DRY NEEDLING 

Dry Needling aims to treat muscle triggers/triggers points/painful myofascial syndromes. Muscle trigger points can be treated using manual techniques or with a sterile acupuncture needle that will prick the muscle trigger point (dry needling). This act of needling would reactivate the blood supply and oxygen delivery to the contracted muscle fiber and fascia, reduce the inflammatory response, and thus release muscle tension in a lasting manner.

Objectives: Training objectives You ..

•Understand the pathophysiology of myofascial pain syndrome and trigger points.

•Know and understand the referred pain patterns of the 12 main muscles.

•You are able to distinguish between active and latent trigger points and assess their clinical relevance using clear clinical diagnostic criteria.

•can you manually and accurately locate the trigger points.

•know the patient-specific coaching strategies that apply when using Dry Needling.

•know the specific indications for Dry Needling and can use these techniques effectively and appropriately for the 12 main muscles.

•understand and know the hygiene measures for Dry Needling and practice them correctly.

•know all the contraindications of Dry Needling.

•know the potential dangers of Dry Needling and are able, if necessary, to respond appropriately to a possible incident.

•have deepened your anatomical knowledge through practical palpation exercises and can safely use Dry Needling on patients

Course content:

 This training day addresses the essence of the clinical practice of Dry Needling therapy for trigger points. The practical and theoretical foundations, as well as the treatment of the 12 muscles in the body most often affected by trigger points, are taught. A large part of the course is practical with great importance for clinical integration. The participants practice Dry Needling in pairs with substantial supervision.
